They returned to New Mauville days after their encounter with a two-faced Morpeko that Atlan had captured and named Goodcop/Badcop. After a long meet-and-greet, one that resulted in the discovery that keeping the Morpeko well-fed meant more 'Goodcop' than 'Badcop', Atlan had prepared his supplies for this next trip and eagerly awaited for the chance to go. Same as before, Brigid the Aron tagged along behind him.

"Giants spiders... crazy little rodents with dual personalities... you think there's anything else as crazy that this place will throw at us?" He chuckled, turning over his shoulder to regard the Aron as he held a flashlight up in one hand. Brigid, however, didn't seem all too worried about. In fact, she picked up the pace and passed Atlan. Guiding him, instead of the other way around, the brave little Aron led them down the moss-covered hall of the power-plant and around the corner into a large circular chamber.

At the other end of the large circular chamber they had entered was an open electrical panel. And, standing in front of this panel with a very curious look on its face, was a Flaafy. Atlan and Brigid slowed to a stop when they noticed, but still managed to briefly catch its attention. It turned over its shoulder to look at them for a moment, then calmly turned back to the exposed panel.

Before Atlan or his companion Aron could make another move, the Flaafy reached out and placed its paw against the electrical wiring within the panel.

ZZZZZAAAAP!

A great flash of yellow light filled the room, and the Flaafy was cast backwards by the small explosion until it hit the ground and rolled a few feet before hitting the wall. Rather than reach for the pokéball his hand had preemptively placed itself over, Atlan dug into his messenger bag for a potion and rushed over to assess the Flaafy's injuries. Sliding onto his knees, he turned the little sheep over and was quick to spray the burns and scrapes he saw. The act roused it back into consciousness, and he smiled down at it when it hazily looked him in the eyes.

"Not the brightest fellow, are you? Hehe... at least in one sense of the word." He teased, helping it up into a seated position on the ground. "Are you okay to stand, pal? Want to come with me? I can take you to a pokémon center."
